This mural was a commission from the Botwood Mural Arts Society. It is one of many that now grace this culturally vibrant town in Newfoundland. The images tell the story of the struggles and jubilations of new brides, and sometimes new mothers, that crossed the Atlantic ocean to be with their beloved partners met during the first and second world wars. Many left their home country for good to find a challenging life in a new land hitherto unknown.
